Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking, Energy and Information Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 5.26% or 3.50 points to trade at 70.00 at the close. Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) added 2.12% or 1.53 points to end at 73.61 and Enea SA (WA:ENAE) was up 1.59% or 0.16 points to 10.25 in late trade.
Biggest losers included mBank (WA:MBK), which lost 3.37% or 11.90 points to trade at 341.10 in late trade. Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) declined 2.67% or 0.070 points to end at 2.550 and Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP) shed 2.22% or 0.13 points to 5.73.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 283 to 249 and 186 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.00% or 0.50 to $49.46 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.32% or 0.67 to hit $50.12 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.39% or 4.95 to trade at $1268.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.31% to 4.3308, while USD/PLN rose 0.03% to 3.9665.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.17% at 98.52.
