Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking, Food and Media sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which rose 3.17% or 0.09 points to trade at 2.93 at the close. KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) added 2.46% or 1.83 points to end at 76.17 and Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) was up 2.27% or 1.01 points to 45.51 in late trade.
Biggest losers included mBank (WA:MBK), which lost 3.57% or 11.85 points to trade at 319.85 in late trade. Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) declined 2.54% or 1.33 points to end at 51.05 and Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) shed 2.15% or 1.20 points to 54.60.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 290 to 238 and 176 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.79% or 0.76 to $43.23 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 1.82% or 0.80 to hit $44.83 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.09% or 1.10 to trade at $1255.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.29% to 4.2839, while USD/PLN fell 0.05% to 3.7808.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 94.25.
