Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Energy, Telecoms and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which rose 2.91% or 166.00 points to trade at 5880.00 at the close. Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) added 2.49% or 1.89 points to end at 77.86 and Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) was up 2.29% or 1.40 points to 62.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR), which lost 2.74% or 1.33 points to trade at 47.15 in late trade. Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP) declined 2.04% or 0.12 points to end at 5.77 and Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) shed 1.95% or 0.79 points to 39.76.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 288 to 236 and 197 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 3.16% or 1.54 to $47.16 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 3.39% or 1.72 to hit $48.96 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.07% or 0.95 to trade at $1275.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.62% to 4.3093, while USD/PLN fell 0.56% to 3.9261.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.05% at 98.36.
