Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Energy, Media and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.02% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW), which rose 3.44% or 11.70 points to trade at 351.70 at the close. KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) added 2.82% or 3.25 points to end at 118.45 and Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) was up 2.45% or 0.14 points to 5.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which lost 5.53% or 428.00 points to trade at 7305.00 in late trade. Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) declined 2.72% or 12.20 points to end at 435.80 and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) shed 1.95% or 0.40 points to 20.15.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 299 to 268 and 108 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.91% or 0.55 to $59.75 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.18% or 0.78 to hit $64.78 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.40% or 4.80 to trade at $1194.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.32% to 4.1245, while USD/PLN rose 0.94% to 3.7788.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.68% at 97.60.
