Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Energy sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 1.85%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS), which rose 2.88% or 0.74 points to trade at 26.44 at the close. CD Projekt SA (WA:CDR) added 0.58% or 0.80 points to end at 139.80 and Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) was up 0.27% or 0.20 points to 73.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which lost 4.30% or 425.00 points to trade at 9465.00 in late trade. Energa SA (WA:ENGP) declined 3.74% or 0.40 points to end at 10.29 and PKP Cargo (WA:PKPP) shed 3.69% or 1.60 points to 41.80.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 294 to 180 and 166 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.41% or 0.29 to $70.67 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.58% or 0.45 to hit $78.68 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 2.03% or 26.70 to trade at $1291.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.53% to 4.2943, while USD/PLN rose 1.13% to 3.6220.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.53% at 93.04.
