Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 1.67%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 6.04% or 2.50 points to trade at 43.86 at the close. Enea SA (WA:ENAE) added 0.18% or 0.02 points to end at 11.28 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) was up 0.08% or 0.15 points to 179.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Play Communications SA (WA:PLY), which lost 4.32% or 0.94 points to trade at 20.80 in late trade. Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP) declined 3.32% or 0.31 points to end at 9.04 and Polskie Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) shed 3.28% or 0.25 points to 7.37.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 299 to 186 and 175 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 3.76% or 2.03 to $51.98 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 2.95% or 1.85 to hit $60.84 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.04% or 0.55 to trade at $1314.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.30% to 4.3089, while USD/PLN rose 0.34% to 3.7945.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 96.232.
