Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Information Technology, Energy and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.83% to hit a new 6-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Eurocash SA (WA:EUR), which rose 3.73% or 0.79 points to trade at 21.99 at the close. Kruk SA (WA:KRU) added 1.07% or 2.20 points to end at 207.60 and CD Projekt SA (WA:CDR) was up 1.05% or 1.10 points to 105.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Energa SA (WA:ENGP), which lost 4.62% or 0.49 points to trade at 10.11 in late trade. Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) declined 3.95% or 1.88 points to end at 45.70 and Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (WA:PEO) shed 3.16% or 4.19 points to 128.43.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 282 to 193 and 179 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.21% or 0.13 to $61.12 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.41% or 0.26 to hit $64.09 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 1.16% or 15.20 to trade at $1320.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.19% to 4.1951, while USD/PLN fell 0.20% to 3.4062.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 89.97.
