Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Chemicals, Basic Materials and Media sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.00%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU), which rose 2.69% or 1.23 points to trade at 46.96 at the close. Enea SA (WA:ENAE) added 2.10% or 0.26 points to end at 12.66 and mBank (WA:MBK) was up 1.92% or 10.40 points to 552.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which lost 3.21% or 0.71 points to trade at 21.39 in late trade. KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) declined 3.02% or 3.65 points to end at 117.40 and Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) shed 2.89% or 0.52 points to 17.50.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 361 to 177 and 105 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 1.71% or 1.21 to $69.37 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 0.84% or 0.62 to hit $72.77 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 1.61% or 42.66 to trade at $2,610.64 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.20% to 4.26, while USD/PLN fell 0.43% to 4.10.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.24% at 108.00.
