Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Chemicals, Banking and Information Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 2.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 11.89% or 8.99 points to trade at 84.60 at the close. mBank (WA:MBK) added 5.50% or 22.90 points to end at 439.40 and Bank Zachodni WBK SA (WA:BZW) was up 4.40% or 14.15 points to 336.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP), which lost 2.02% or 1.15 points to trade at 55.75 in late trade. Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) declined 1.55% or 1.42 points to end at 90.00 and Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) shed 0.79% or 0.05 points to 6.30.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 287 to 270 and 99 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.57% or 0.34 to $59.63 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.67% or 0.42 to hit $62.59 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.47% or 17.70 to trade at $1184.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.22% to 4.1704, while USD/PLN fell 0.35% to 3.6690.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 94.34.
