Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Energy and Food sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.68%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN), which rose 3.04% or 0.16 points to trade at 5.43 at the close. CCC SA (WA:CCCP) added 3.03% or 5.00 points to end at 170.00 and mBank (WA:MBK) was up 3.00% or 9.10 points to 312.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU), which lost 4.28% or 1.48 points to trade at 33.08 in late trade. OrangePL (WA:OPL) declined 2.82% or 0.17 points to end at 5.85 and Synthos SA (WA:SNS) shed 2.58% or 0.10 points to 3.77.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 265 to 258 and 144 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.63% or 0.79 to $47.62 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.89% or 0.92 to hit $47.80 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.43% or 5.45 to trade at $1247.45 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.47% to 4.4383, while USD/PLN rose 0.67% to 3.9642.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.14% at 95.42.
