Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Media, Oil & Gas and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.42%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS), which rose 3.77% or 0.90 points to trade at 24.80 at the close. Enea SA (WA:ENAE) added 1.58% or 0.15 points to end at 9.64 and Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) was up 1.51% or 0.89 points to 60.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CD Projekt SA (WA:CDR), which lost 3.17% or 1.33 points to trade at 40.60 in late trade. PKP Cargo (WA:PKPP) declined 2.84% or 1.20 points to end at 41.10 and Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) shed 2.52% or 1.56 points to 60.45.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 246 to 246 and 218 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 1.38% or 0.60 to $44.18 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 2.22% or 1.02 to hit $46.87 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.27% or 3.55 to trade at $1322.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.36% to 4.3224, while USD/PLN fell 0.30% to 3.8441.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.02% at 95.31.
