Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Energy, Telecoms and Information Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.35% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR), which rose 5.38% or 2.86 points to trade at 55.99 at the close. Synthos SA (WA:SNS) added 2.55% or 0.100 points to end at 4.020 and ING Bank Śląski SA (WA:INGP) was up 2.27% or 3.10 points to 139.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which lost 5.10% or 239.05 points to trade at 4450.00 in late trade. CCC SA (WA:CCCP) declined 0.99% or 1.85 points to end at 184.50 and PKP Cargo (WA:PKPP) shed 0.81% or 0.28 points to 34.22.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 263 to 223 and 222 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.95% or 0.40 to $41.53 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.99% or 0.44 to hit $43.85 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.63% or 22.35 to trade at $1345.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.36% to 4.2769, while USD/PLN rose 0.04% to 3.8587.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.49% at 96.22.
