Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Banking and Information Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 5.40% or 4.30 points to trade at 84.00 at the close. KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) added 3.39% or 3.98 points to end at 121.48 and Bank Millennium SA (WA:MILP) was up 3.22% or 0.24 points to 7.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP), which lost 3.22% or 1.63 points to trade at 49.02 in late trade. Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) declined 2.27% or 0.59 points to end at 25.41 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) shed 1.25% or 2.90 points to 230.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 283 to 213 and 175 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 3.09% or 1.43 to $47.77 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 2.88% or 1.40 to hit $50.00 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.23% or 2.90 to trade at $1251.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.13% to 4.2578, while USD/PLN fell 0.26% to 3.6525.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 93.81.
