Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Energy, Telecoms and Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.18% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Energa SA (WA:ENGP), which rose 4.30% or 0.43 points to trade at 10.44 at the close. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) added 2.31% or 1.65 points to end at 73.15 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) was up 2.08% or 0.49 points to 24.09 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CD Projekt SA (WA:CDR), which lost 2.20% or 1.63 points to trade at 72.60 in late trade. Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) declined 1.98% or 1.90 points to end at 93.91 and KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGH) shed 1.56% or 2.10 points to 132.83.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 310 to 289 and 152 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 1.55% or 0.84 to $53.49 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 1.59% or 0.90 to hit $55.76 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.45% or 5.55 to trade at $1233.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.13% to 4.3011, while USD/PLN fell 0.07% to 4.0733.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 101.37.
