Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Chemicals and Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which rose 4.49% or 4.09 points to trade at 95.20 at the close. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) added 3.55% or 0.43 points to end at 12.53 and Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP) was up 2.34% or 1.12 points to 49.01 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bank Polska Kasa Opieki SA (WA:PEO), which lost 2.07% or 3.35 points to trade at 158.25 in late trade. PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) declined 1.93% or 0.32 points to end at 16.30 and LPP SA (WA:LPPP) shed 1.32% or 100.00 points to 7500.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 315 to 243 and 114 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 3.80% or 1.71 to $43.25 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 2.82% or 1.44 to hit $49.58 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.39% or 4.30 to trade at $1108.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.03% to 4.2017, while USD/PLN fell 0.22% to 3.8027.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 97.19.
