Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Energy and Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP), which rose 3.23% or 0.92 points to trade at 29.39 at the close. Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) added 2.10% or 1.43 points to end at 69.43 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) was up 1.72% or 0.39 points to 23.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lubelski Wegiel Bogdanka SA (WA:LWBP), which lost 5.51% or 3.85 points to trade at 66.00 in late trade. Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) declined 3.77% or 2.26 points to end at 57.74 and Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) shed 3.01% or 1.15 points to 37.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 311 to 258 and 104 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.64% or 1.01 to $60.42 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.50% or 0.98 to hit $64.72 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.61% or 7.20 to trade at $1179.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.10% to 4.1383, while USD/PLN rose 0.70% to 3.6835.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.66% at 95.20.
