Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Media, Oil & Gas and Chemicals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 1.68%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP), which rose 4.44% or 2.42 points to trade at 56.92 at the close. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) added 4.11% or 1.70 points to end at 43.10 and Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) was up 3.41% or 1.28 points to 38.86 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CCC SA (WA:CCCP), which lost 3.54% or 7.60 points to trade at 207.00 in late trade. LPP SA (WA:LPPP) declined 2.02% or 175.00 points to end at 8485.00 and Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) shed 1.71% or 0.16 points to 9.21.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 267 to 164 and 184 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.68% or 0.50 to $73.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.87% or 1.45 to hit $79.06 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.28% or 3.50 to trade at $1254.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.26% to 4.3752, while USD/PLN fell 0.66% to 3.7469.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.75% at 94.29.
