Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Media and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.89%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which rose 4.76% or 0.110 points to trade at 2.420 at the close. Enea SA (WA:ENAE) added 2.95% or 0.29 points to end at 10.12 and Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) was up 2.82% or 0.17 points to 6.19 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which lost 4.41% or 2.40 points to trade at 52.00 in late trade. OrangePL (WA:OPL) declined 3.72% or 0.20 points to end at 5.18 and CCC SA (WA:CCCP) shed 3.25% or 8.60 points to 255.80.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 244 to 216 and 185 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.24% or 0.16 to $67.89 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.42% or 0.31 to hit $74.31 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.36% or 4.80 to trade at $1318.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.03% to 4.2284, while USD/PLN rose 0.39% to 3.4898.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 91.29.
