Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Chemicals and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.55% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 3.93% or 3.95 points to trade at 104.45 at the close. LPP SA (WA:LPPP) added 2.78% or 219.70 points to end at 8129.70 and Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen SA (WA:PZU) was up 2.42% or 1.13 points to 47.76 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Eurocash SA (WA:EUR), which lost 2.36% or 0.85 points to trade at 35.15 in late trade. Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) declined 1.85% or 0.50 points to end at 26.60 and Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) shed 1.23% or 0.55 points to 44.25.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 257 to 233 and 172 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.57% or 0.27 to $47.70 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.35% or 0.18 to hit $52.22 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.41% or 5.32 to trade at $1297.32 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.22% to 4.2518, while USD/PLN fell 0.91% to 3.5783.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.61% at 92.66.
