Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Energy, Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.46%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which rose 4.00% or 0.090 points to trade at 2.340 at the close. CCC SA (WA:CCCP) added 3.30% or 7.20 points to end at 225.40 and Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP) was up 3.17% or 1.72 points to 56.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER), which lost 1.85% or 0.90 points to trade at 47.80 in late trade. Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) declined 1.48% or 0.58 points to end at 38.68 and Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) shed 1.10% or 0.10 points to 9.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 235 to 186 and 168 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 4.61% or 3.02 to $68.56 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 2.51% or 1.83 to hit $74.88 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1270.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.21% to 4.3177, while USD/PLN fell 0.52% to 3.7103.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 94.34.
