Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Media and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP), which rose 5.37% or 3.40 points to trade at 66.70 at the close. Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) added 4.13% or 3.79 points to end at 95.56 and CD Projekt SA (WA:CDR) was up 3.74% or 7.60 points to 210.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which lost 7.71% or 3.02 points to trade at 36.14 in late trade. Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) declined 3.02% or 0.17 points to end at 5.46 and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) shed 2.33% or 0.22 points to 9.21.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 263 to 176 and 181 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 2.32% or 1.57 to $66.06 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.80% or 1.31 to hit $71.50 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.40% or 17.10 to trade at $1201.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.45% to 4.3140, while USD/PLN rose 0.66% to 3.7865.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 96.26.
