Investing.com – Philippines equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Property, Holding Firms and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite fell 1.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were PLDT Inc (PS:TEL), which rose 2.80% or 34.00 points to trade at 1248.00 at the close. GT Capital Holdings Inc (PS:GTCAP) added 1.69% or 15.00 points to end at 900.00 and Petron Corp (PS:PCOR) was up 1.02% or 0.090 points to 8.890 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Robinsons Land Corp (PS:RLC), which lost 4.24% or 0.820 points to trade at 18.500 in late trade. Jollibee Foods Corp (PS:JFC) declined 4.21% or 11.40 points to end at 259.60 and JG Summit Holdings Inc (PS:JGS) shed 4.00% or 2.050 points to 49.200.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 112 to 79 and 51 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.42% or 5.30 to $1250.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.36% or 0.26 to hit $72.50 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.23% or 0.18 to trade at $77.28 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.24% to 8.0776, while USD/PHP fell 0.07% to 53.544.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 95.19.
