Investing.com – Philippines equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Property, Industrials and Holding Firms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite declined 1.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC), which rose 1.79% or 0.65 points to trade at 36.95 at the close. Security Bank Corp (PS:SECB) added 1.18% or 3.00 points to end at 257.00 and DMCI Holdings Inc (PS:DMC) was up 0.58% or 0.080 points to 13.820 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG), which lost 3.28% or 0.160 points to trade at 4.720 in late trade. Globe Telecom Inc (PS:GLO) declined 3.24% or 60.00 points to end at 1790.00 and Universal Robina Corp (PS:URC) shed 2.86% or 4.30 points to 146.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 128 to 82 and 46 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.07% or 0.90 to $1330.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.25% or 0.77 to hit $61.02 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.06% or 0.69 to trade at $64.56 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.24% to 8.2211, while USD/PHP fell 0.28% to 52.118.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 89.78.
