Investing.com – Philippines equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Mining & Oil, Industrials and Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite declined 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Ayala Corp (PS:AC), which rose 2.02% or 20.00 points to trade at 1010.00 at the close. BDO Unibank Inc (PS:BDO) added 1.64% or 2.40 points to end at 149.00 and Ayala Land Inc (PS:ALI) was up 1.22% or 0.500 points to 41.500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC), which lost 6.66% or 2.15 points to trade at 30.15 in late trade. Jollibee Foods Corp (PS:JFC) declined 2.42% or 7.40 points to end at 298.00 and Manila Electric Co (PS:MER) shed 1.79% or 6.00 points to 329.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 165 to 64 and 37 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.22% or 2.90 to $1309.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.51% or 0.32 to hit $62.09 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.53% or 0.35 to trade at $65.86 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.40% to 8.2280, while USD/PHP rose 0.35% to 52.100.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 89.88.
