Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Property, Holding Firms and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite added 0.85%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Ayala Land (PS:ALI), which rose 3.80% or 1.400 points to trade at 37.900 at the close. Lt Group (PS:LTG) added 3.04% or 0.460 points to end at 15.600 and Alliance Globa (PS:AGI) was up 2.66% or 0.600 points to 23.050 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG), which lost 1.63% or 0.080 points to trade at 4.850 in late trade. Jollibee Foods (PS:JFC) declined 1.34% or 2.600 points to end at 192.000 and Bloomberry Res (PS:BLOOM) shed 1.03% or 0.100 points to 9.650.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 98 to 83 and 12 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.57% or 6.20 to $1084.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.34% or 0.15 to hit $45.90 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.29% or 0.14 to trade at $50.13 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.23% to 7.3683, while USD/PHP rose 0.23% to 45.755.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.17% at 98.21.
