Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Holding Firms, Industrials and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite added 0.70%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were First Gen (PS:FGEN), which rose 4.01% or 1.10 points to trade at 28.55 at the close. Bloomberry Res (PS:BLOOM) added 3.02% or 0.340 points to end at 11.600 and Aboitiz Power (PS:AP) was up 2.59% or 1.10 points to 43.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Philex Mining (PS:PX), which lost 2.54% or 0.190 points to trade at 7.300 in late trade. Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG) declined 1.79% or 0.100 points to end at 5.500 and Gt Capital Hol (PS:GTCAP) shed 0.89% or 12.000 points to 1338.000.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 104 to 92 and 15 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.03% or 0.30 to $1194.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $57.78 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.00% or 0.65 to trade at $65.50 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.03% to 7.1428, while USD/PHP fell 0.15% to 44.220.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.49% at 96.96.
