Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Services, Banking & Financials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite added 0.66%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Bloomberry Res (PS:BLOOM), which rose 4.40% or 0.400 points to trade at 9.500 at the close. Metropolitan B (PS:MBT) added 2.80% or 2.45 points to end at 90.00 and Manila Electri (PS:MER) was up 1.86% or 5.200 points to 285.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Robinsons Land (PS:RLC), which lost 2.33% or 0.650 points to trade at 27.250 in late trade. Globe Telecom (PS:GLO) declined 0.91% or 24.000 points to end at 2618.000 and Lt Group (PS:LTG) shed 0.88% or 0.120 points to 13.460.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 99 to 78 and 23 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.32% or 3.80 to $1182.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.70% or 0.42 to hit $60.42 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.11% or 0.07 to trade at $64.02 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.15% to 7.2798, while USD/PHP rose 0.14% to 45.195.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 95.17.
