Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Property, Banking & Financials and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite rose 0.66% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Ayala Land (PS:ALI), which rose 3.90% or 1.500 points to trade at 40.000 at the close. Gt Capital Hol (PS:GTCAP) added 3.14% or 42.000 points to end at 1380.000 and Globe Telecom (PS:GLO) was up 2.38% or 48.000 points to 2062.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Energy Develop (PS:EDC), which lost 2.47% or 0.210 points to trade at 8.290 in late trade. Robinsons Land (PS:RLC) declined 2.27% or 0.700 points to end at 30.100 and Semirara Minin (PS:SCC) shed 1.86% or 3.1000 points to 163.9000.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 103 to 86 and 15 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was up 0.03% or 0.30 to $1183.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.75% or 0.35 to hit $47.24 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.05% or 0.03 to trade at $55.09 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.16% to 7.1972, while USD/PHP fell 0.16% to 44.602.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.14% at 98.83.
