Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Property, Mining & Oil and Holding Firms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite rose 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG), which rose 6.20% or 0.230 points to trade at 3.940 at the close. Jollibee Foods Corp (PS:JFC) added 5.20% or 10.40 points to end at 210.40 and Emperador Inc (PS:EMP) was up 2.79% or 0.170 points to 6.260 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Universal Robina Corp (PS:URC), which lost 5.44% or 9.50 points to trade at 165.00 in late trade. International Container Terminal Services Inc (PS:ICT) declined 2.20% or 2.000 points to end at 89.000 and First Gen Corp (PS:FGEN) shed 1.60% or 0.35 points to 21.55.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 94 to 78 and 63 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.04% or 13.05 to $1266.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 1.61% or 0.83 to hit $52.53 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.42% or 0.78 to trade at $55.67 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.44% to 7.2465, while USD/PHP fell 0.25% to 50.057.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 100.66.
