Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mining & Oil, Holding Firms and Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite gained 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG), which rose 2.30% or 0.100 points to trade at 4.450 at the close. Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC) added 1.84% or 2.90 points to end at 160.80 and Alliance Global Group Inc (PS:AGI) was up 1.74% or 0.260 points to 15.240 in late trade.
Biggest losers included GT Capital Holdings Inc (PS:GTCAP), which lost 2.83% or 35.00 points to trade at 1200.00 in late trade. Petron Corp (PS:PCOR) declined 2.25% or 0.240 points to end at 10.420 and Metropolitan Bank and Trust Co (PS:MBT) shed 2.22% or 2.00 points to 88.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 97 to 93 and 49 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.12% or 1.57 to $1259.83 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.72% or 0.37 to hit $50.76 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.84% or 0.45 to trade at $53.42 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.05% to 7.2287, while USD/PHP rose 0.13% to 49.815.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 96.77.
