Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Holding Firms and Property sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite added 0.63%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Energy Development Corp (PS:EDC), which rose 12.92% or 0.620 points to trade at 5.420 at the close. LT Group Inc (PS:LTG) added 5.02% or 0.860 points to end at 18.000 and Ayala Corp (PS:AC) was up 2.08% or 20.00 points to 980.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Metro Pacific Investments Corp (PS:MPI), which lost 1.46% or 0.100 points to trade at 6.770 in late trade. Globe Telecom Inc (PS:GLO) declined 1.44% or 30.00 points to end at 2048.00 and PLDT Inc (PS:TEL) shed 1.22% or 20.00 points to 1615.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 105 to 103 and 40 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.73% or 9.56 to $1292.14 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $51.86 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.33% or 0.19 to trade at $57.73 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.22% to 7.6871, while USD/PHP rose 0.17% to 51.005.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.53% at 93.30.
