Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Mining & Oil, Industrials and Holding Firms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite rose 0.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Jollibee Foods Corp (PS:JFC), which rose 3.45% or 8.80 points to trade at 263.80 at the close. International Container Terminal Services Inc (PS:ICT) added 3.23% or 3.500 points to end at 112.000 and Aboitiz Power Corp (PS:AP) was up 2.50% or 1.00 points to 41.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG), which lost 4.31% or 0.220 points to trade at 4.880 in late trade. Metropolitan Bank and Trust Co (PS:MBT) declined 2.46% or 2.70 points to end at 107.00 and Globe Telecom Inc (PS:GLO) shed 1.72% or 30.00 points to 1710.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 109 to 99 and 52 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.55% or 7.40 to $1342.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.05% or 0.03 to hit $64.33 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.14% or 0.10 to trade at $69.77 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.12% to 7.8163, while USD/PHP fell 0.04% to 50.345.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 90.53.
