Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Mining & Oil, Industrials and Property sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite added 0.46%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Jollibee Foods Corp (PS:JFC), which rose 6.22% or 14.00 points to trade at 239.00 at the close. Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC) added 4.14% or 7.00 points to end at 176.00 and Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG) was up 1.63% or 0.080 points to 4.980 in late trade.
Biggest losers included LT Group Inc (PS:LTG), which lost 2.33% or 0.420 points to trade at 17.580 in late trade. San Miguel Corp (PS:SMC) declined 1.38% or 1.40 points to end at 100.00 and Security Bank Corp (PS:SECB) shed 1.16% or 3.00 points to 255.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 121 to 67 and 56 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.27% or 3.44 to $1276.26 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.55% or 0.26 to hit $47.81 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.69% or 0.35 to trade at $51.15 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was down 0.30% to 7.6803, while USD/PHP rose 0.20% to 51.410.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 93.83.
