Investing.com – Philippines equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Holding Firms, Mining & Oil and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite added 0.39%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Semirara Mining Corp (PS:SCC), which rose 4.67% or 1.40 points to trade at 31.40 at the close. JG Summit Holdings Inc (PS:JGS) added 2.78% or 1.650 points to end at 61.000 and GT Capital Holdings Inc (PS:GTCAP) was up 2.70% or 27.00 points to 1027.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Energy Development Corp (PS:EDC), which lost 3.31% or 0.180 points to trade at 5.260 in late trade. Megaworld Corp (PS:MEG) declined 2.45% or 0.120 points to end at 4.780 and SM Prime Holdings Inc (PS:SMPH) shed 1.86% or 0.700 points to 37.000.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 102 to 83 and 49 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.21% or 2.80 to $1299.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.15% or 0.10 to hit $65.64 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.09% or 0.07 to trade at $76.39 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.21% to 8.2723, while USD/PHP rose 0.19% to 52.985.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 93.50.
