Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors, Mining and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 1.15% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Edelnor (LM:EDN), which rose 2.73% or 0.150 points to trade at 5.650 at the close. Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) added 1.75% or 0.010 points to end at 0.580 and Minsur (LM:MINi) was up 0.78% or 0.010 points to 1.300 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM), which lost 9.50% or 0.019 points to trade at 0.181 in late trade. Buenaventura (LM:BVN) declined 7.69% or 1.050 points to end at 12.600 and Milpo (LM:MIL) shed 6.90% or 0.200 points to 2.700.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 21 to 5 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.80% or 0.39 to $49.20 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $51.29 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 3.21% or 42.20 to trade at $1270.50 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.4020, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7817.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.47% at 96.10.
