Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Non-Metal Minerals, Industrials and Mining sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 1.00% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Minera Irl (LM:IRL), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to trade at 0.09 at the close. Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi) added 0.39% or 0.050 points to end at 13.000 and Ferreyros (LM:FER) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to 1.430 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA), which lost 5.00% or 0.250 points to trade at 4.750 in late trade. Trevali Mining (LM:TV) declined 3.61% or 0.030 points to end at 0.800 and Atacocha (LM:ATB) shed 2.78% or 0.005 points to 0.175.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 22 to 5 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.04% or 0.03 to $60.27 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.92% or 0.60 to hit $64.96 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.05% or 0.60 to trade at $1189.20 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.08% to 3.1550, while EUR/PEN fell 0.47% to 3.4444.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.60% at 97.52.
