Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors, Services and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General fell 0.76%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi), which rose 1.82% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.560 at the close. Bco Continenta (LM:CON) added 1.20% or 0.050 points to end at 4.220 and Ferreyros (LM:FER) was up 1.03% or 0.020 points to 1.970 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi), which lost 6.70% or 1.260 points to trade at 17.550 in late trade. Panoro (LM:PML) declined 3.85% or 0.005 points to end at 0.125 and ENGIE Energia Peru SA (LM:ENGI) shed 3.70% or 0.300 points to 7.800.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 15 to 10 and 15 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.35% or 0.18 to $51.29 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.17% or 0.09 to hit $53.85 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.24% or 3.01 to trade at $1258.51 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.18% to 3.2733, while EUR/PEN rose 0.30% to 3.6723.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 96.95.
