Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Mining, S&P Lima Juniors and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.76%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Casa Grande (LM:CSG), which rose 3.33% or 0.250 points to trade at 7.750 at the close. Trevali Mining (LM:TV) added 2.70% or 0.020 points to end at 0.760 and Edelnor (LM:EDN) was up 0.87% or 0.050 points to 5.800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC), which lost 5.23% or 1.48 points to trade at 26.82 in late trade. Sider (LM:SID) declined 5.00% or 0.020 points to end at 0.380 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) shed 3.23% or 0.020 points to 0.600.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 16 to 4 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 2.53% or 1.18 to $45.49 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $47.13 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.74% or 9.50 to trade at $1297.50 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3865, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7354.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.38% at 97.39.
