Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors, Food & Beverages and Mining sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General fell 0.66%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which rose 2.45% or 0.320 points to trade at 13.400 at the close. Panoro (LM:PML) added 2.19% or 0.003 points to end at 0.140 and Bco Continenta (LM:CON) was up 0.73% or 0.030 points to 4.140 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which lost 5.15% or 0.050 points to trade at 0.920 in late trade. Sider (LM:SID) declined 2.75% or 0.010 points to end at 0.353 and Atacocha (LM:ATB) shed 2.44% or 0.010 points to 0.400.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 12 to 7 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.32% or 0.17 to $52.54 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.61% or 0.34 to hit $55.52 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 1.63% or 19.45 to trade at $1215.65 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.82% to 3.3428, while EUR/PEN rose 0.38% to 3.5860.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.21% at 100.30.
