Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the S&P Lima Juniors, Non-Metal Minerals and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General fell 0.65% to hit a new 3-year low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which rose 5.74% or 0.410 points to trade at 7.550 at the close. Edelnor (LM:EDN) added 3.06% or 0.170 points to end at 5.720 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) was up 2.56% or 0.010 points to 0.400 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Minera Irl (LM:IRL), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to trade at 0.05 in late trade. Trevali Mining (LM:TV) declined 8.82% or 0.060 points to end at 0.620 and Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) shed 4.76% or 1.000 points to 20.000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 20 to 6 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.59% or 0.28 to $48.16 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.00% or 0.55 to hit $54.72 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.44% or 4.80 to trade at $1098.90 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.16% to 3.1855, while EUR/PEN fell 0.35% to 3.4931.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 97.35.
