Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Mining, Non-Metal Minerals and S&P Lima Juniors sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General fell 0.57%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Sider (LM:SID), which rose 3.03% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.340 at the close. Credicorp (LM:BAP) added 1.92% or 2.900 points to end at 154.300 and Relapasa (LM:REL) was up 1.73% or 0.004 points to 0.235 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Inversiones Centenario SAA (LM:ICE), which lost 8.18% or 0.450 points to trade at 5.050 in late trade. Trevali Mining (LM:TV) declined 6.86% or 0.070 points to end at 0.950 and Empresa de Distribucion Electrica de Lima Norte SAA (LM:ENE) shed 3.57% or 0.200 points to 5.400.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 16 to 10 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 3.80% or 1.79 to $45.29 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 3.66% or 1.80 to hit $47.41 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.32% or 3.80 to trade at $1187.00 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.46% to 3.4013, while EUR/PEN fell 0.10% to 3.6220.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.25% at 100.96.
