Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Mining, Non-Metal Minerals and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General fell 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi), which rose 4.00% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.520 at the close. Edegel (LM:EDE) added 3.85% or 0.100 points to end at 2.700 and Sociedad Minera el Brocal SAA (LM:BRO) was up 3.49% or 0.300 points to 8.900 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb), which lost 4.49% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.850 in late trade. Trevali Mining (LM:TV) declined 2.70% or 0.030 points to end at 1.080 and Panoro (LM:PML) shed 2.13% or 0.003 points to 0.138.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 14 to 11 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.60% or 0.32 to $53.43 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.02% or 0.01 to hit $55.76 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.61% or 7.55 to trade at $1240.65 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.02% to 3.2487, while EUR/PEN rose 0.58% to 3.4615.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.62% at 100.45.
