Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Non-Metal Minerals, Industrials and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 0.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which rose 2.62% or 0.340 points to trade at 13.320 at the close. Southern Copper Corp (LM:SPC) added 1.48% or 0.56 points to end at 38.51 and Credicorp (LM:BAP) was up 0.42% or 0.700 points to 166.000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA), which lost 8.46% or 0.290 points to trade at 3.140 in late trade. Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) declined 3.64% or 0.020 points to end at 0.530 and Casa Grande (LM:CSG) shed 2.91% or 0.210 points to 7.000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 16 to 8 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 1.21% or 0.65 to $53.13 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 1.40% or 0.79 to hit $55.45 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.07% or 0.85 to trade at $1190.65 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.32% to 3.2910, while EUR/PEN fell 0.26% to 3.5137.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 100.56.
