Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking & Financials, Non-Metal Minerals and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General fell 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Cerro Verde (LM:CVE), which rose 4.74% or 0.900 points to trade at 19.900 at the close. Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) added 4.35% or 0.020 points to end at 0.480 and Casa Grande (LM:CSG) was up 4.00% or 0.270 points to 7.020 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which lost 3.63% or 0.410 points to trade at 10.890 in late trade. Relapasa (LM:REL) declined 2.13% or 0.005 points to end at 0.230 and Minsur (LM:MINi) shed 2.03% or 0.030 points to 1.450.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 16 to 10 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 4.00% or 2.12 to $50.86 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 3.45% or 1.92 to hit $53.80 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 1.21% or 14.00 to trade at $1145.00 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.15% to 3.3900, while EUR/PEN rose 0.21% to 3.6199.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.97% at 102.06.
