Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Agriculture, Telecoms and Mining sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the Lima Stock Exchange General fell 0.86% to hit a new 3-year low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Lima Stock Exchange General were Panoro (LM:PML), which rose 6.43% or 0.009 points to trade at 0.149 at the close. Relapasa (LM:REL) added 1.25% or 0.002 points to end at 0.160 and Unacem (LM:CEL) was up 0.43% or 0.010 points to 2.320 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Luna Gold (LM:LGC), which lost 14.29% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.210 in late trade. Casa Grande (LM:CSG) declined 5.36% or 0.300 points to end at 5.300 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) shed 5.00% or 0.020 points to 0.380.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 13 to 8 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 3.14% or 1.49 to $49.00 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 2.15% or 1.19 to hit $56.30 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 0.30% or 3.60 to trade at $1195.00 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.15% to 3.0725, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.3798.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.35% at 97.08.
