Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Food & Beverages, Agriculture and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the Lima Stock Exchange General declined 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Lima Stock Exchange General were Atacocha (LM:ATB), which rose 5.96% or 0.009 points to trade at 0.160 at the close. Edelnor (LM:EDN) added 2.65% or 0.150 points to end at 5.650 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) was up 1.72% or 0.010 points to 0.590 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Luna Gold (LM:LGC), which lost 6.25% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.150 in late trade. Minsur (LM:MINi) declined 3.55% or 0.050 points to end at 1.360 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) shed 2.70% or 0.010 points to 0.360.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 11 to 5 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 0.73% or 0.38 to $52.02 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 0.34% or 0.20 to hit $59.15 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.44% or 5.30 to trade at $1199.30 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.16% to 3.1230, while EUR/PEN fell 0.41% to 3.2837.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 99.74.
