Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Food & Beverages, Mining and Non-Metal Minerals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 0.17% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were PPX Mining Corp (LM:PPX), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to trade at 0.07 at the close. Relapasa (LM:REL) added 5.63% or 0.012 points to end at 0.225 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) was up 2.63% or 0.020 points to 0.780 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Candente Copper (LM:DNT), which lost 7.94% or 0.0050 points to trade at 0.0580 in late trade. Trevali Mining (LM:TV) declined 2.90% or 0.020 points to end at 0.670 and Volcan Compania Minera SAA (LM:VOLa) shed 2.51% or 0.090 points to 3.500.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 19 to 15 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 2.50% or 1.76 to $72.29 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.21% or 0.16 to hit $77.11 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.48% or 6.10 to trade at $1253.80 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.18% to 3.2735, while EUR/PEN fell 0.56% to 3.7902.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.70% at 95.02.
