Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Mining and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 3.32% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which rose 13.04% or 0.820 points to trade at 7.110 at the close. Trevali Mining (LM:TV) added 11.54% or 0.030 points to end at 0.290 and Credicorp (LM:BAP) was up 7.00% or 7.280 points to 111.280 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sider (LM:SID), which lost 3.64% or 0.004 points to trade at 0.106 in late trade. Relapasa (LM:REL) declined 3.57% or 0.005 points to end at 0.140 and Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) shed 2.94% or 0.500 points to 16.500.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 14 to 5 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.68% or 0.77 to $46.30 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 2.60% or 1.25 to hit $49.38 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.12% or 1.40 to trade at $1135.20 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.40% to 3.2185, while EUR/PEN rose 0.42% to 3.6250.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.18% at 96.22.
