Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Non-Metal Minerals, Industrials and Mining sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 1.88%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which rose 5.78% or 0.600 points to trade at 10.980 at the close. Trevali Mining (LM:TV) added 5.58% or 0.024 points to end at 0.454 and Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM) was up 4.25% or 0.010 points to 0.245 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ferreyros (LM:FER), which lost 0.61% or 0.010 points to trade at 1.630 in late trade. Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) declined 0.57% or 0.100 points to end at 17.400 and Luz Del Sur (LM:LUZ) shed 0.10% or 0.010 points to 10.500.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 14 to 4 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 2.08% or 1.01 to $47.48 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 2.45% or 1.22 to hit $48.62 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.50% or 6.40 to trade at $1294.50 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3282, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7487.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.38% at 94.67.
