Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages, Non-Metal Minerals and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General rose 0.80% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which rose 4.90% or 0.690 points to trade at 14.780 at the close. Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) added 2.70% or 0.150 points to end at 5.700 and Alicorp (LM:ALI) was up 2.63% or 0.200 points to 7.800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Panoro (LM:PML), which lost 2.86% or 0.004 points to trade at 0.136 in late trade. Edelnor (LM:EDN) declined 1.46% or 0.090 points to end at 6.060 and Luz Del Sur (LM:LUZ) shed 1.35% or 0.160 points to 11.670.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 16 to 7 and 12 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 1.01% or 0.45 to $44.89 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $47.36 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 2.08% or 27.55 to trade at $1354.25 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.3630, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7940.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.98% at 94.80.
